Falling
By: Terry D. Scheerer

Help me
I'm falling
From the height of my despair
To the depth of my depression
Falling
In slow motion spirals
To the darkness below.

Screaming
Without sound
I am beset by creatures of my dreams
Monsters, bred of my fear
This fallacy of life
Stifles, corrupts, destroys
Then devours the spirit.

Into the vortex I plunge
Falling
Surrounded by fragments of terror
These beings of my dread
Snatch away my sanity
Pain encompasses my soul
And it is gone--torn away on the howling wind
Falling, forever falling.

About the Author
