Welcome to the exciting next issue of the new "World of Myth". In this
month of November, two big events are taking place: The Presidential
Election and of course, later this month is Thanksgiving. And, you know
us here at World of Myth--we have both of those events covered, as well as
everything in between.
For the election, our very own Editor in Chief submits his thoughts in
the COMMENTARY section (better read them quickly--the election is
November 2nd!). Then, over at the Trivia of Myth (in keeping with the
election), new questions cover the presidency and American history.
While on the subject of trivia, since no one answered the questions
correctly in our first Trivia Contest, we are rolling over the prize
which was offered last month, with a special bonus. That's right--the
FIRST clever person who correctly answers the questions of this month's
Trivia Contest will win, not only the mini-lithograph by Rebecca 'Gurl of
Myth' Lofgren, but they will also be entered into a drawing (which will
be held sometime in January) to possibly win an autographed copy of David
K. Montoya's NEW comic, "The Underground To Nowhere"! (So much for not
doing comics, anymore! ;-).
As for Thanksgiving, we will dig into 'The Myth of...', to find out some
facts about this special holiday that were, for some reason, left out of
the history books. Of course, we here at World of Myth will be only to
happy to share this information with you. Keeping in the spirit of the
holiday, poet Kevin Magnus has posted what he calls his first 'Happy'
poem, entitled, aptly enough, "Thanksgiving".
But, wait, we're not finished with this issue, just yet. Our lucky,
third issue will see the debut of another NEW section for (we hope) your
reading pleasure. This issue, we bring you last month's Question of the
Month Poll winner (and thanks to all of you for taking the time to vote),
the World of Myth 'Movie Reviews'. Herein, our staff will attempt to
give you the dirt (both good and bad) on movies, old and new, the titles
of which will be randomly drawn from an old mayonnaise jar (we couldn't
afford the new, expensive computer program that would have picked the
movies for us--budget cuts, you know). So, we might review a new,
in-theater movie, or something that has recently been released on DVD or
perhaps some old classic flicks, you just never know.
And, last but certainly not least, we have our returning
contributors--along with a new poet--serving up fresh stories, artwork
and poetry for your viewing enjoyment. This issue is just jam-packed
with new, great stuff. So, make yourself a big bowl of popcorn, sit
back, relax and
ENJOY!
