Dan Moran is a self-taught artist who has been drawing for as long as he can remember. He has worked with many mediums, including acrylic and oil paint, stone and clay sculpture, collage, etching, and of course drawing. Drawing is his favorite, and his weapon of choice is the black ball-point pen.
His work has twice been featured in the magazine Cthulhu Sex ( www.cthulhusex.com), and also appears in some other underground horror magazines (such as Theater of Decay) and on the CDs and T-shirts of some black-metal bands (such as Nocturnal Vomit). His drawings of historic Nantucket sites are sold in the Museum Shop of the Nantucket Historical Association.
Dan Moran’s former web site, “Art of Darkness,” has been down, but the web pages are archived on the “Way Back Machine” ( http://www.archive.org/index.php )—type in the following old URL: http://www.sover.net/~faust666
He has some temporary online galleries at various free sites: www.723.com/DoktorFaustus; www.myspace.com/faust_prometheus ; and an archived gallery on the Strange Horizons website ( http://www.strangehorizons.com/2003/20031013/gallery/gallery.shtml).
