Is it true, Christmas time is here,
To spend it with people we find dear.
We gather to celebrate this time of year,
And they all come from places far and near.
We greet one another as they come through the door,
With instructions to place presents on the floor.
Now assembled to talk of times of no more,
With chipper conversation the cider we pour.
As the sun begins to set,
With that the candles are lit.
Then we travel outside just for a bit,
Singing carols with a sweet tone that fit.
We sit around the tree with presents at hand,
The children shriek with excitement as planned.
I peeked outside to witness the snowfall land,
Ripping of wrapping to a tune of a band.
Now that everyone has made their way home,
after reading stories from an old tome.
I tucked in my child and say sleep tight,
and wish him a Merry Christmas and good night.
As I stand in front of the tree what a sight,
so Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night.
